Make evangelists, not sales. If your product is revolutionary, you must legitimize the revolution before making sales. Build a community around your product rather than sucking money out of your customers. Once the community is in place, sales will come.

ampelography

ampelography is a fine wine sales and marketing company based in Toledo, Ohio. Founded in 2009, it covers Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. It represents artisans, vignerons and vignobles.  Consolidations, acquisitions and virtual wineries have led to homogeneity of wines without a sense of place or even, in some cases accountability. The strategy of the conglomerates is to grab as much shelf real estate with memorable names and inoffensive wines. That is their approach to brand building. Breaking through the noise is an expensive and losing proposition. ampelography is an attempt to level the playing field. Through experienced distribution management and infectious enthusiasm and story telling, our aspiration is to give restaurants and retailers a reason to want to support these wines and place them in the hands of their valued clients..

Place matters. The land matters. Sustainability matters. The wines in this portfolio are from France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, California, Oregon and Washington. They come from families, some 1st generation, some 10th generation. They all aspire to continue or create a generational business. Nothing we produce reflects the people and the place nearly as much as wine.

We believe wine should be great. Sometimes the greatness comes from the story as much as what's inside. These stories need to be told. Education and information will always help the cause of great wines.
